Tiverton School Department request for Management Services generate two bids
Robinson Green Beretta Corporation, Taunton, MA was contracted to generate the Existing Conditions Facility Analysis Submission, which was used as a basis for Tiverton school building improvement projects. On November 8, the Tiverton Voters, by a 73.3% approval, passed a $15,438,230 Municipal Bond to replace the roofs and HVAC (heat, ventilation and air conditioning) systems at the Middle School and High School. The School Department solicited bids, Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Architect and Engineering Design Services to manage the roof and boiler projects only. Two sealed bids were received, Brewster Thornton Group, Providence, RI provided a bid of $540,300 and Robinson Green Beretta Corporation submitted a bid but did not provide a final cost analysis. The solicitation for bids stated that “cost will be considered after a qualified firm has been selected”. Doug Fiore, Director of Business and Finance, is currently evaluating the two proposals and will then recommend to the School Committee at the January 10th meeting, the top ranked firm. The School Committee will then decide whether to proceed with negotiating a fee. Stay tuned for upcoming information about your $15+ million dollars.
